More than half of Iranian students that were studying in the US in 2016/17 were enrolled in Engineering study fields, reports, higher education statistics portal MastersDegree.net.
Out of 12,643 Iranian students in the US in 2016/17, 53.2% of them were enrolled in Engineering study fields. The return of these engineers to their home country could help Iran’s economy significantly.
11.8% were enrolled in Math/Computer Sciences programs, while 11.7% in Physical/Life Sciences.
Business / Management students from Iran come next with 5%, and students enrolled in Fine / Applied Arts programs are at 4.6%
